Tonight is the 3rd night of Rite Studios and DK Expressions at The Coca Cola Dome. First we brought you the John Legend, All Of Me Tour, then Kenny G, One Night Only and tonight we will be covering the Thirty Seconds To Mars concert live in Johannesburg. Tonight we have a guest videographer joining us for the shoot, Daniel Israelite. We are all pumped and ready to shoot and are keen to see the performance of Oscar winner Jared Leto.
The evening starts out with some smooth jams from Beatenberg a Cape Town based pop band. The faces are of Matthew Field, with a great voice and talent for guitar. Ross Dorkin, who plays the bass outstandingly well. Robin Brink on drums, jams like a nutter. Thouroughly enjoyed their set and cant wait to see them perform again live!
We make our way through the packed arena, into the Golden Circle area to grab a good spot to get the footage we need for the night. The crowd is completely pumped, screaming, singing and people jumping around whichever direction you look The Anticipation is building up and the excitement mounts, as the time draws nearer for Thirty Seconds To Mars to step up onto the stage. The lights dim, the crowd stirs and as the music starts the crowd goes absolutely feral. As Jared Leto runs onto the stage there are thousands of phones pulled out, as everybody tries fervently to snap a pic or vid of the band.
What a performance, the crowd seemed to love every moment of tonight’s concert. Jared giving the audience a chance to sing along really gave the whole evening a much more personal affair. I think that it can only get better from here. Hopefully we will have the opportunity to see Thirty Seconds To Mars again next year!
